BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 P.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their large-scale offensive in the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate, Friday, targeting another batch of towns controlled by the jihadist rebels near the Hama axis.
Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army managed to capture several areas in the Idlib Goverorate on Friday, following an intense battle with the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-'Izza.
According to a military report, the Syrian Arab Army has captured at least 14 towns in the southern countryside of Idlib over the last 24 hours and a total of 20 towns in the last 48 hours.
With this latest advance, the Syrian Army is now within striking distance of the key town of Sinjar, which is located along the main road to the jihadist stronghold of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man.
